AIJOSH is committed to making scholarly research freely accessible to readers worldwide. Open access supports the exchange of knowledge, education, and public engagement with research within the journal’s fields of study.
1. Immediate and Free Access
All articles published in AIJOSH are freely available online immediately upon publication. Readers are not required to pay subscription fees, purchase individual articles, or register to access their full texts. There is no access embargo.
Readers may read, download, print, search, and link to published articles. Redistribution, adaptation, and other forms of reuse are permitted under the license applicable to the material.
2. Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright to their work. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
These permissions apply to noncommercial uses only. Separate permission is unnecessary for uses covered by the license. These freedoms cannot be revoked while users comply with its terms.
Commercial uses require separate permission from the relevant copyright holder unless otherwise permitted by law.
3. Attribution and Responsible Reuse
Users should acknowledge the authors and AIJOSH as the original publication source and provide the article’s bibliographic citation and DOI or original URL.
Changes to reused or adapted material must be clearly identified. Users remain responsible for complying with the applicable license and respecting other relevant rights.
Third-party material excluded from the article’s license must be identified through an appropriate credit line. Its reuse may require separate permission. Public-domain material and uses permitted by applicable exceptions or limitations remain unaffected.
4. Author Self-Archiving
Authors may deposit and share the following versions in institutional or subject repositories without an embargo:
-
Preprint: The manuscript version before peer review.
-
Accepted manuscript: The version accepted after peer review, before the journal’s final copyediting and layout.
-
Version of Record: The final article published by the journal.
Deposited copies should clearly identify the manuscript version. Once the article is published, authors should add its full bibliographic citation and DOI link. Copies of the Version of Record must retain the relevant copyright, attribution, and licensing information.
Repository records should link to any subsequent correction, retraction, or other editorial notice affecting the article.
Further provisions are available in the journal’s Electronic Archiving and Self-Archiving Policy.
5. Publication Charges and Editorial Independence
Free access for readers is distinct from any charges associated with manuscript submission or publication.
Any applicable author charges, payment conditions, or waiver arrangements are disclosed separately on the journal’s website. Authors should consult the journal’s current publication fee information before submission.
Payment, where applicable, does not guarantee acceptance or influence peer review and editorial decisions. Decisions are based on scholarly merit, relevance to the journal, methodological soundness, and compliance with editorial and ethical requirements.
6. Long-Term Preservation
AIJOSH supports the continued availability of its published content through the arrangements described in its Electronic Archiving and Self-Archiving Policy.
That policy identifies the preservation services, repository arrangements, and backup procedures actually maintained by the journal. Participation in an external preservation service and the extent of preserved content must be supported by current records.
Where preservation coverage is publicly recorded, the journal provides a link to the relevant service or registry. Coverage is limited to content successfully deposited and preserved.
Operational backups support recovery of the journal’s platform and files but should not be treated as equivalent to independent long-term preservation.
7. Funder and Institutional Requirements
Immediate open access, author copyright retention, and CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licensing can support authors in meeting institutional and funder open-access requirements.
Authors remain responsible for checking the specific conditions applicable to their work, including repository deposit, funding acknowledgment, required statements, and reporting obligations.
Publication in AIJOSH does not automatically establish compliance with every institutional or funder requirement.
8. Commitment to Open Scholarship
AIJOSH promotes access to scholarly knowledge beyond institutional, economic, and geographical barriers. This policy supports the reading, teaching, discussion, and responsible reuse of published research.
Open access to an article does not require unrestricted disclosure of confidential research data, personal information, or source materials subject to legitimate access restrictions. Authors should explain the availability of supporting materials in their Data and Source Availability Statement.
This policy is reviewed periodically to maintain consistency with the journal’s copyright, licensing, preservation, and editorial policies. Updates do not withdraw permissions already granted under an article’s CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.
