JOURNAL DESCRIPTION

The Andalas International Journal of Socio-Humanities is a peer-reviewed academic journal committed to advancing the understanding of socio-humanities perspectives, with a unique focus on the complexities and dynamics of marginalized groups. Published biannually by the Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (LPPM) Universitas Andalas, AIJOSH provides a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary and comparative scholarship that explores the intersections of society, culture, and humanity. 

AIJOSH aims to foster intellectual dialogue and scholarly collaboration by publishing high-quality, original research that delves into diverse issues such as marginalized movements, minority struggles, endangered languages, cultural preservation, race, gender, and social and political exclusion. The journal is particularly interested in work that highlights the experiences and voices of marginalized and isolated communities, offering fresh insights into their challenges and resilience.

Dedicated to the principles of inclusivity and accessibility, AIJOSH is an open-access journal operating under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. This ensures free and unrestricted access to all published content, empowering researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide to benefit from and contribute to the growing body of socio-humanities scholarship.

JOURNAL HISTORY

  • AIJOSH started its publication in 2019 (online version).
  • Relawan Jurnal Indonesia started to supervise AIJOSH.
  • ISSN 2715-601X was registered on January 3rd, 2020, by PDII LIPI.
  • Another editorial board member and IT support staff joined in early July 2022, following AIJOSH changing its journal cover and optimizing its OJS.
  • AIJOSH in partnership with Masyarakat Sejarawan Indonesia (MSI) in July 2022.
  • AIJOSH's first-time application to the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) had been rejected on July, 12th, 2022.
  • AIJOSH registered at Google Scholar on July 15th, 2022.
  • AIJOSH registered at Onesearch on July 15th, 2022.
  • AIJOSH registered at Dimension on July 15th, 2022.
  • AIJOSH registered at DOI and Portal Garuda on July 16th, 2022.
  • New author template introduced on August 5th, 2022.
  • AIJOSH is accredited by Akreditasi Jurnal Nasional (ARJUNA), Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi, Republik of Indonesia in grade 4 as known as Sinta 4 (Vol. 3, No. 1, 2021- Vol. 7, No. 2, 2025) announced on May 24, 2024.
  • A new layout galley was introduced in April 2026 and started in Vol. 8 No. 1 (2026).
