Archiving Policy

The Andalas International Journal of Socio-Humanities (AIJOSH) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. To safeguard against data loss and to guarantee perpetual access to scholarly work, the journal employs multiple robust digital preservation systems.

  1. Digital Archiving Systems

AIJOSH utilizes the following internationally recognized archiving services:

  1. LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
    • Through the LOCKSS Program, AIJOSH ensures distributed preservation by creating multiple, redundant copies of its content across a network of libraries. This system provides a decentralized and secure method for long-term archiving.
  2. The Keepers Registry (PKP Preservation Network)
    • AIJOSH participates in The Keepers (via the PKP Preservation Network), which archives journal content in repositories managed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). This service guarantees ongoing access to AIJOSH publications, even in the unlikely event of the journal ceasing operations.
  3. CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
    • AIJOSH works with CLOCKSS, a not-for-profit partnership that preserves digital content in a secure network of geographically distributed archives. CLOCKSS ensures that journal content remains available and accessible, with controlled triggers for open access in case of discontinuation.
  4. Internet Archive
    • AIJOSH content is preserved through the Internet Archive, a trusted digital library that creates permanent snapshots of published articles. This platform ensures wide-reaching access and discoverability for readers worldwide.
  1. Preservation Scope

The archiving systems used by AIJOSH ensure:

  • Secure preservation of published articles, including metadata, full-text content, and supplementary materials.
  • Access continuity in case of technical failures, cyber threats, or the journal ceasing operations.
  • Ongoing updates and integrity checks to maintain accurate, uncorrupted, and complete versions of the journal's content.
  1. Open Access Guarantee

In alignment with AIJOSH’s open-access policy, archived content remains freely accessible through designated repositories. This ensures that all users, regardless of institutional affiliations or geographic location, can retrieve AIJOSH articles in perpetuity.

  1. Author Support

AIJOSH encourages authors to deposit copies of their published work in institutional repositories or personal archives while maintaining adherence to the journal’s copyright and licensing policies.
