Repository Policy

The Andalas International Journal of Socio-Humanities (AIJOSH) actively supports the archiving and dissemination of research through repositories and preprint servers. The journal encourages authors to deposit their work at all stages of the publication process—preprint, postprint, and the final published version—into institutional or subject-specific repositories to maximize visibility, accessibility, and impact.

  1. Preprint Policy
  • Definition: A preprint is the version of the manuscript before it has undergone peer review.
  • Authors are encouraged to deposit preprints in recognized preprint servers or institutional repositories.
  • Preprints must include a clear statement that the manuscript is under consideration by AIJOSH, along with any updates if it is later accepted for publication.
  • Citation of preprints in the published version is permitted, and authors should update preprint metadata to include the DOI of the final published article upon publication.
  1. Postprint Policy
  • Definition: A postprint is the version of the manuscript after peer review, incorporating revisions but prior to typesetting and final formatting by AIJOSH.
  • Authors may archive the postprint in any repository, provided that:
    • The repository includes a link to the published version of the article on the AIJOSH website.
    • The postprint version clearly acknowledges AIJOSH as the publishing journal.
  1. Published Version Policy
  • Definition: The published version is the final, typeset, and formatted version of the article as it appears in AIJOSH.
  • AIJOSH permits authors to archive the final published version in any repository or preprint server, under the following conditions:
    • The archived version retains the journal branding, formatting, and copyright/licensing information.
    • Proper attribution to AIJOSH and inclusion of the article’s DOI are mandatory.
  1. Licensing and Attribution
  • All versions of the manuscript (preprint, postprint, and published) are subject to the terms of the journal’s Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
  • Users of archived manuscripts must provide appropriate attribution, link to the original publication, and distribute derivative works under the same license.
  1. Compliance with Sherpa Romeo

AIJOSH’s repository policy complies with Sherpa Romeo standards, ensuring alignment with funder and institutional requirements. Authors are encouraged to:

  • Archive all permitted versions of their manuscript as outlined above.
  • Include the following metadata in repository records:
    • Title, authors, abstract, and keywords.
    • The DOI and publication details of the final published version (when available).
